XENIA – The Scouts continued their sluggish start to the 2017 season on Sunday, as they fell to the Cincinnati Steam by a final score of 8-0.
KEY MOMENT
– The Steam jumped on starting pitcher Alex Worthington early, scoring four runs in the top half of the first inning.
SCORING BREAKDOWN
Top 1st
– Cincinnati’s Dallas Beaver started the scoring with an RBI triple that scored Jake Bouke. After Worthington struck out Mike Moffat for the second out of the inning, the Steam lined three straight RBI singles into the outfield to make it a 4-0 game.
Top 3rd
– A two-out double off the bat of Jace Mercer scored two more for Cincinnati, making it 6-0.
Top 7th
– Mercer came through again for the Steam as he picked up his 3rd and 4th RBIs of the day with another two-out hit, bringing the score to 8-0.
FINAL
– The Scouts could not scratch across a run off of Cincinnati as the final score stayed at 8-0 Steam.
